New Dance Theatre is a movement based theatre company formed in 2012 as a collaboration of New School for Drama alumni led by Artistic Director Shannon Stowe. The company seeks to create choreography that is inspired primarily by the actor’s impulse, allowing for storytelling that is both expressive and physical. The mission of New Dance Theatre is to utilize a wide variety of dramatic forms for telling old and new stories, looking for where the pedestrian and profound collide.
Past productions include ASYLUM (a co-production with Access Theater), Stricken (New School for Drama, Emerging Artists New Works Series), A Date for the Evening (Emerging Artists New Works Series, The Frigid Fringe, and the San Francisco Fringe Festival) and Lamia (Westbeth Theatre).
