ABOUT THE NELKEN LINE
From http://www.pinabausch.org/en/projects/the-nelken-line
The “lines” are a recurring and characteristic element in many of Pina Bausch's pieces: Sequences of movement with repetitive steps and gestures that the dancers perform standing in a long queue. They often proceed into the audience.
[The Pina Bausch Foundation invites everyone to learn and ] dance the element that is probably the best known line in all of Pina Bausch's works: “Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter” from the 1982 piece “Nelken”. With just a few distinct gestures, the line tells about alternation of the four seasons with dancers proceeding in a long line.
